glatt koser restaurant for sheva brachos
Submitted by: Rochelle on Sep 8th 2008
Looking for glatt kosher restaurant in the Cedarhurst or Brooklyn area that is nice enough to make sheva brachos for about 30 people. Coming from Harrisburg, and don't really know the area. Would like good food without being the most expensive. Will check out recommendations. Musr be clean and nice. Price range would help too.

Judy, who does the desserts really knows her stuff. Thanks for the inches on my waist, but it was well worth it. Im not a sushi worshipper but my friend was raving about it. I wish them lots of luck, they brought alot of class to this nabe.

This place must be avoided, quality and service extremelly inferior or nonexistent, owners abusive people.
Go one more block on Tucuman about 2675 (further west) and you see El Galope and excellent restaurant, kosher meat.

Carciofi strarted great but it's sliding downhill. Service is not what it was in the beginning. Quality of food is also not the same. I was excited to have a really good restaurant to count on. But service and quality must be restored before I go back again.

Levy's Kosher Italian
Submitted by: Lover of Good Food on Aug 24th 2008
the food is fantastic - i could not believe the huge portions they served. I had the vodka penne and had enough for three people (plus, the french fries are to die for!). service friendly and fast, and prices cannot be beat. This food is for anyone (especially those who want healthy cooking) - not just those looking for kosher fare. Especially since kosher food is prepared with much stricter guildelines (I wish all restaurants made their food with the strict guidelines - there'd be alot less food-health issues in the U.S, that's for sure!) Five stars

A kosher place near Sleepy Hollow, NY

Elan, do you know of anything in that location?

Unfortunately, there are not too many places near Sleepy Hollow. As a Westchester resident, I have to either go into White Plains/Scarsdale/New Rochelle to find kosher dining, or travel into Riverdale, which is not too far from Sleepy Hollow (I live in Irvington/Dobbs Ferry and it only takes 25 minutes). There are plenty of dairy, vegetarian, meat, butchers, supermarkets in Riverdale, all certified by Vaad of Riverdale. Westchester kosher is certified by I think Vaad of Queens... Hopefully as more frum Jews move into the Rivertowns/Tarrytown/Sleepy Hollow area we'll get more kosher restaurants. The Chabad shuls in Dobbs Ferry and Briarcliffe/Ossining should help on that front!

decor is great, service is terrible. sat for 45 minutes before anyone realized we weren't being served. owner asked us why we didn't tell him we weren't being served. we said we thought we were just waiting our turn. then the waitress lost our order and they ran out of salad. took our order again and 20 minutes later we were all eating although the food was not good.

WOW! We just had our JECSFL boys at your place and the food was outstanding! Along with our wacky waiter Adam, we had a really enjoyable experience along with some excellent dishes such as the delicious Hurricane Roll and tasty steaks, including the Hawaiian Tropical Steak and the Kalbi Steak. The service was fun yet very professional. This steakhouse rivals some of the best steak places in New York. Five Stars!!!

Prime Grill Beverly Hills was on Rodeo Drive, but they closed a few months ago. A Cow Jumped over the Moon, the dairy gourmet cafe underneath the Prime Grill has now moved into that location. Hope this helps.

Submitted by: Elka on Aug 6th 2008
While the food is good, the service varies. I like to leave a tip depending on the level of service. It does not say anywhere on the menu that gratuity is 18% but they add it. That is illegal.
