Lo Mein recipe
Submitted by: avrumi on Jul 19th 2007
Hi:
I enjoy Lo Mein from China Glat, Moshi Moshi, and China Mehadrin. When I tried to cook Lo Mein myself, it always tastes completely different than in the stores. Could you please tell me what I might be doing wrong, or could you please give me a recipe so that it would taste similar to theirs?
Thanks.

Use MSG.

Reply #2 submitted by: Moshi Moshi on Jul 21st 2007
Thank you for visiting our restaurant, we have a dozen of noodle dishes but Lo Mein is surely the most popular choice. Creating a delicious Lo Mein is fairly simple however it requires appropriate ingredients & utensils. Boil "Golden Bowl" noodles for 10 min, rinse under cold water and sprinkle a drop of veg. oil to keep the noodles from sticking together. In a wok add some vegetables, noodles, soy sauce & (sake)rice wine. Sauté for couple of minutes & enjoy!
P.S. Sautéing in a regular cooking pan rather than in a Chinese wok might explain variations in taste.
Hope to see You back soon for dinner or lunch at Moshi Moshi!

Reply #4 submitted by: Marat on Jul 16th 2007
I agree with Bill -- but JAMIE also -- whatever, they should've just opened it up in Manhattan.

Reply #5 submitted by: DANNY on Jul 30th 2007
its a good thing that they closed because they didnt know how to take care of the place. the reason why is because they wasted money on useless stuff.

Reply #6 submitted by: Anonymous on Aug 7th 2007
Which soup did you like? I know the chef quite well and could pass on the recipe to you.

Dear Sirs,
My wife and I, on one of our recent recreational trips to New York, stopped, quite by accident, at your delicatessen to have dinner on June 14th of this year. I wanted to share our impressions with you and your staff.
When we arrived, it was quite crowded but we were seated at the end of a row of tables next to a group of talkative young people. The host was very friendly and helpful and we got the impression that almost everyone except us had been there many times. There were families, young people, and groups engaged in lively conversation and the atmosphere was engaging and positive. The food was excellent and, in my younger days, I probably could have finished it all.

We wanted to thank you for an excellect dining experience and to congratulate you on your ability to create a circumstance where food, fun, family, and faith can be shared in such a rewarding way.

You can be assured that your fine facility will be a regular feature of our trips to the city and I looked forward to our next visit. Best regards,
Park and Denise Warne

The Orchid
Submitted by: Melinda Veliosa on Jun 29th 2007
I recently dined at The Orchid Restaurant in Metuchen , NJ and I must say I was pleasantly surprised! My husband and I stopped in to get a quick sandwich and decided to sit and try it out after seeing the selection on their menu. We had the Moroccan cigars for appetizer and I had a lamb kabob special and my husband a Ribeye steak - all on recommendation of our very helpful waitress. It was fantastic!!
