When searching for a local restaurant that will offer the illusion of dining at a secluded spot outside of Manhattan, look no further than "Finestra Restaurant", located on the quaint corner of York Avenue and 73rd Street. Warmly decorated with exposed brick walls and candle-lit tables, this eatery is a top choice for many locals who were lucky enough to discover this secret early on.

Owner Roger Ribeiro has created an atmosphere which has quickly become a favorite romantic spot for dining on excellent Italian cuisine. Finestra also attracts those that frequent Sotheby’s grand auctions (which is one block over), as well as many of the well respected doctors and staff at nearby hospitals. Many other “neighborhood notables” escape to Finestra to get away from the otherwise hectic city life. Dining outside on the patio surrounded by flowers during the warmer months enables guests to enjoy the serenity that is offered. Let Finestra's gracious hostess, Beatrice Zet welcome you to a wonderful dining experience.

Executive Chef Emanuel Sinchi, who was trained in Northern Italy and France, has created an original menu that boasts a wide variety of flavors. Try his Puree of Wild Mushroom Soup to start. A wonderful Lamb Shank, prepared with herbs and port wine is served with spinach risotto. For the more adventurous, skewers of Monk fish wrapped in prosciutto will surely entice. A large dessert menu, complete with pictures will tempt all tastebuds and present guests with their choice of a variety of wonderful desserts. To keep with current dietary trends, a low-carb menu is offered to diners as well.

There is live music performed from Wednesday through Saturday evenings, as classical guitar and piano maestros add to the romance of it all. An occasional “Opera Night” is offered to change up the pace every now and again. Finestra Restaurant will be sure to please all those looking for that perfect escape to Italy.
