Located on 1st Avenue on the Upper East Side, East River Café presents guests with an intimate ambiance evoking earth, sea, and sky in a lushly gentle pallette of soft peach, marine blue, rich umber and ocher. Complimented with Persian rugs, velvet drapes, French windows and flickering votives, a romantic feels is added to this Italian-Mediterranean eatery. Ornate hand-carved mirrors and lanterns, and a unique collection of handsomely-framed vintage movie star stills grace the walls.

Towards the front of the restaurant, a Glam copper bar serves up libations such as Chocolate or Orange/Blue Curacao Martinis. Live music from famed pianist Irving Fields can be heard on Wednesdays and Thursdays. There is a draped private party room towards the rear, which is available for special events and celebrations. Custom theme dinners are served on all major holidays.

East River Café has been touted by the press as an establishment the combines “the comfort and hospitality of a chi-chi version of ‘Cheers’ with that of the romance and charm of the of a villa on the Mediterranean”.
