ViceVersa is a welcome addition to the newly gentrified "Chelsea North" in the former neighborhood of Hell's Kitchen. Located on a charming residential tree-lined street that stands just west of some of midtown's biggest corporate headquarters, the area is one that is clearly in revitalization and is surrounded by some of the hottest new residential real estate in the city.

Done in a palette of neutral tones, the space is clean and spare with a rich layering of natural materials with particular attention given to lighting to create a warm and welcoming ambiance. Dark wood floors complement the green-hued limestone used to line several columns as well as the base of the stainless steel bar. The dining room's cream colored walls contain six niches that hold oversized-clay terracotta vases imported from Italy. The double-layered two-tone clothed tables are generously spaced, and most have a view of the garden through two floor-to-ceiling glass walls.

With its high stucco walls, planters full of bamboo, terra cotta tiled flooring, and umbrella’d tables, the enclosed garden at ViceVersa is a hidden jewel. Serving cocktails and dinner, it is an urban oasis removed from the hustle of midtown just a block away.

If there are any three young people who have had the experience it takes to open their own restaurant, these three are it. Franco Lazzari, Daniele Kucera, and Stefano Terzi originally met each other five years ago while working at the celebrated restaurant on Central Park South, San Domenico, NY. Each came from different parts of Italy; each had worked in restaurants since their teens.

At ViceVersa, Franco, along with his partners Daniele and Stefano, unveiled their vision for a contemporary Italian restaurant, combining the traditions of their own cultural background with the youth and energy of their years, and the sophistication and experience of their time in major New York City restaurants.
