Baldoria Restaurant is the now famous theater district outpost of the legendary Rao’s in East Harlem. It is owned by Frank Pellegrino, Jr., whose family has operated Rao’s since 1896. Baldoria is a chic, urban neighborhood restaurant perfect for dates, a quick bite, or a casual dinner with friends. Baldoria delivers with hearty, innovative and skillfully prepared dishes straight from the hands of Executive Chef Carla Pellegrino, a graduate of the French Culinary Institute and the wife of the owner.
Baldoria takes pride in their great steaks, Neapolitan home style cuisine, special northern Italian delicacies, and classic southern Italian favorites. Upstairs, one of New York City’s greatest raw bars serves up oysters from Maine, Washington State, British Columbia, California, Virginia, and Rhode Island as well as clams, mussels, lobster and crabmeat.
Baldoria offers live music with the very best in pop and swing from Italy and the U.S. starting at 9P.M. from Thursday though Saturday. Genuine Wurlitzer jukeboxes on both floors spill out classic opera as well as contemporary Italian music.
