Welcome to Chola and the eclectic cuisine of India. Chola is a sister restaurant of Jaipore Royal Indian Cuisine in Brewster, N.Y. and Bombay Bar & Grill in Westport, Ct. At Chola diners are introduced to the mysteries of Cormandel, Kerala, and Deccani cooking and to the delicacies of the Royal Mughals of the north. Unique among Indian restaurants, Chola presents classic dishes of both South (Dakshin) and North India. In line with the ancient Indian Tradition of Vegetarianism, half of the menu is vegetarian. Also in the spirit of health conscientiousness, only canola oil is used in their cooking.
A daily lunch buffet offers a selection of choices that round out a complete authentic Indian meal. The menus offer vegetarian, chicken, lamb, and seafood specialties from both North India - Mughal & Punjabi Cuisine and South India - Kerala, Andhra, Tamil, Nadu & Kamataka cuisines.
Chola has received outstanding reviews by many of New York City's most respected critics and restaurant guides. New York Magazine labeled chola the City's #1 Traditional Indian restaurant. In 1999, the New York Times placed Chola on it's "Hot List". To top off the rave reviews, Chola scored as the second most highly rated Indian Restaurant in all of New York City in the most recent Zagat Survey. Indian fare does not get better than this.
