Nicola Paone Restaurant transports diners into one of the most authentic Italian experiences found in New York City. The restaurant carries the name of it’s late founder, a world famous troubadour who headlined at the Palace on Broadway, who sold tens of millions of records in the United States, Italy, and South America and once performed before three-quarters of a million people in Buenos Aires.
The main dining room depicts the scene of the Trojan trade market, complete with store fronts, awnings, and a working fountain. Guests feel as if they are sitting in the town square in the heart of a small village on the outskirts of Old Rome.
Patrons are greeted each night by gracious host Franco Alfonso, who has been at the restaurant for 45 years. Executive Chef Manuel Arroyo has been there just as long - a tribute to the consistency that is found here. The food at Nicola Paone is prepared with the freshest ingredients. Prime meats and fish are hand picked from the market, and cooked without the camouflage of fancy spices and trendy flare. All of the pastas are made on the premises, and the fabulous selection of desserts are prepared in-house as well.
With a wine list that boasts over 30,000 bottles, Nicola Paone has a choice for everyone, be it hard to find labels, or more affordable vintages. Most are kept in an environmentally protected cellar beneath the restaurant, but many of the bottles are displayed throughout the dining room for all to enjoy. A number of private rooms are available for family functions and corporate parties.
The staff at this wonderful Murry Hill eatery has been there since “day one”. Nicola’s music is piped in throughout the restaurant, and the presence and memory of Nicola Paone lives on at his restaurant each night. PRIVATE PARTIES; PRIVATE ROOMS; HANDICAP ACCESSIBLE
