Cool warmth? In a trendy restaurant? An intimate bar? A homey ‘chic’ lounge? A one-stop evening-out spot? In all of the above? That's what proprietor Matthew Peratore has meticulously, artfully, and passionately assembled at North West.
North West serves Italian comfort food – unique to the Upper West Side, and for that matter, most of Manhattan. Executive Chef Gerald Zarcone, a 6th generation Artisinal bread baker, has been cooking professionally since the ripe age of 12, and has created a menu that reflects the wealth of culinary treasures he has amassed since his youth. Try the Salmon Tartare to start, and match it with a wonderful Lobster Ravioli, or Grilled Diver Scallops. You just can’t miss.
And then, for the before-or-after dinner part, Matthew has seen to it that the cozying comfort continues to welcome you upstairs in North West’s club-like lounge. Here, another sumptuously stocked bar, two couches, several braces of moveable leather armchairs, loveseats, and cocktail tables - overseen by floor to ceiling wine racks chockfull of serious connoisseur’s choicest choices, and again for eye entertainment, more of Charles Lindsay's and Brian Hamill’s "lucidly introspective" photos, this time, shot in Cuba's Partagas factory and the tobacco fields of Pinar Del Rio starring on the exposed brick walls.
The Zagat Survey declares that North West is a "Sleek, oak paneled West Side Italian with a menu featuring seafood and pastas that alone are worthy of the trip.” PRIVATE PARTIES; PRIVATE ROOM; LIVE JAZZ; WINE TASTINGS; PRE-THEATER MENU; DELIVERY; HANDICAP ACCESSIBLE; OUTDOOR DINING
