The history of great food at Chin Chin is evident when one sees the family pictures that grace the walls at Jimmy Chin's 17-year-old family-run mainstay. Bestowed the Zagat Award of Distinction, the list of accolades that this Nouvelle Chinese restaurant has accrued also includes honors from The New York Times, Time Out New York, Gourmet Magazine, and Town & Country - to name a few.
Decorative and inventive dishes compliment the European influence of Chin Chin's environment. Decorated with stylish wood panels and smartly placed track lighting, this eatery hardly resembles your typical Chinese restaurant. The finer dining rooms at many of Hong Kong's chic restaurants come to mind when describing the décor. There are two private rooms, making Chin Chin a popular spot for both corporate functions and family celebrations.
Many of the ingredients used to create the tasty masterpieces here are from the West, and are integrated into Jimmy's vision of what a New York City Chinese restaurant should be. "Our secret is that we take non-Chinese ingredients, and cook them in a Chinese way, with Chinese spices", the owner reveals. A perfect example of this is the now famous Grand Marnier Prawns, one of the fine creative dishes that keep Chin Chin patrons coming back time and time again. An extensive wine list, featuring over 70 bottles, represents many countries and is another example of the variety found at Chin Chin.
Chin Chin presents to its customers a unique dining experience, and will allow you to marvel at the creativity
