Visiting the York Grill is much like visiting a friend's house. Whether dining alone, with friends, or at the bar, Tony, Charlie and Donnie Greco and their staff greet you with wide smiles and put you in a festive mood in a setting that is both warm and velvety.

Friends meet for a drink at the restaurant's meandering bar or reserve a table for a meal featuring flavors from all over the world. Executive Chef Joel Reiss has earned his reputation wearing his toque in some of New York's better known fine dining establishments. His classic roots have gradually given rise to a wonderful style of cooking where flavors, textures and aromas come together in a joyous mix of cuisine. Grilled Skirt Steak, the house specialty, is lightly marinated in honey teriyaki and garlic. Penne Pasta with sautéed chicken, sundried tomatoes and broccoli in a roasted chicken broth, shows that the spectrum is wide at York Grill. Every night there are about 13 different specials, a list that sometimes grows larger than the menu. Lighter fare is always available in the plush lounge areas where patrons can meet for a cocktail and relax.

The Zagat Survey states that "this Upper East Side new American grill may be the best kept secret in New York." For close to ten years, the York Grill has played host to enthusiastic Upper East Siders and a bevy of notable regulars in it's upscale Gracie Mansion neighborhood.
