With warm tones of yellow, fabric accents, and graceful sconces that softly light the comfortable, elegant dining rooms, Franina has a charming and sophisticated ambiance. Italian music plays in the background, while an outstanding professional staff anticipates your every need. Owner and chef Franco Zitoli learned from his parents and grandfather who owned a trattoria in Italy and combines old-world Italian recipes with innovative contemporary trends. Franco’s son Victor, a CIA graduate, is the fourth generation in this family business, proudly celebrating 35 years.
Pastas, sauces, breads, and desserts are all homemade, and house specialties include seasonal fish caught by local fishermen. They use organic fruits and vegetables from Long Island farms, free range chicken, and high quality organic meats. Natural and gluten free products are offered, and you can also enjoy exotic delicacies like quail, rabbit and venison. There’s tableside service and plates are presented as works of art. Franina features an extensive international wine list with 300 labels and a 14,000 bottle inventory in their wine cellar.
