Banking references abound at Tellers Chophouse, which resides in a renovated 1927 grand stone bank building.  From the spectacular dining room dominated by 30-foot windows and art deco friezes to the clubby Gold Bar, walk-in Wine Vault and upstairs private dining Board Room, diners are transported to a time when superior service and quality were the norm.

“Ooohs and aahs are the norm at Tellers,” stated The New York Times’ Joanne Starkey who also remarked it has “one of the most strikingly beautiful dining rooms on the Island.”

Newsday’s Peter Gianotti rated it “Excellent,” saying, “Tellers has always been a first-class steakhouse.”  Contributing to the rave review are “a vivid, coral-hued lobster bisque,” and “the elemental Tellers: juicy porterhouse for two, rack of lamb and the namesake bone-in rib eye, an epic encounter with red meat.”

The classic chophouse menu with local seafood is complemented by a world-class wine list.  Tellers is a regular recipient of Wine Spectator’s Best of Award of Excellence with its Wine Vault containing over 10,000 bottles and around 1,000 labels of wine.

Accolades from the Zagat Survey extend to the “hot” and “beautiful” Gold Bar where an imaginative martini list, with freshly squeezed juices, may be enjoyed.

At Tellers, the service is well informed, smart and sophisticated. The Tellers passion for detail resonates with every facet of the magnificent dining experience.

Tellers, established in 1999, is proud to claim the highest combined Zagat score for Steakhouses in 2011’s Long Island edition and is the fifth restaurant for the Bohlsen Restaurant Group, who also own top-Zagat rated Verace, next door, in Islip; vibrant H2O Seafood Grill in Smithtown and East Islip; Prime on Huntington Harbor; and Monsoon in Babylon.
